Medical Immunology is the study of the tissue and physiological function of the immune system. It explores the process and principles of how the immune system recognizes and eliminates microbes and their components at different levels. It also examines the Principles involved in the disease in order to reach the goal of preventing disease.

The topics are designed to present a complete overview of the immune system, including organs, cells and molecules (antibodies，complement，cytokines and MHC，etc.), the immune response，diagnosis and treatment，prevention and some immune system disease.

In addition, immunology is a rapidly developing and frontier discipline in bio-medical sciences and connecting the basic and clinical medicine. So, new advances in basic and clinic immunology will be incorporated and discussed in lectures. The students are encouraged to ask questions and do discussion with faculty during lecture time or out of class
